2015 NAIDOC
Masquerade Ball & Awards
On Friday 10 July, the community came together to celebrate and have a good time at the first NAIDOC Ball in Wagga Wagga! Everyone had a great time with the Masquerade theme with nearly everyone donning a mask for the night and partaking in the photo booth creating memories for years to come! Benny Walker and The Mighty Yak provided the entertainment while the crowd definitely provided the laughs and the good times! Many thanks to our generous sponsors and the people who dug deep to donate and purchase items in the silent auctions to raise funds for future NAIDOC events!
In the lead up to the event nominations were called for from the community for the first (in a long time) NAIDOC Awards celebrating various categories in our region. The successful nominees were:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Aunty Kath Withers
Caring for Country Award: Ethan Williams
Community Person of the Year Award: Mary Atkinson
Young Person of the Year Award: Ashleigh Pengelly
Sportsperson of the Year Award: Steven O'Neill
