How often does the committee meet?

September- February: Monthly

March- August: Weekly

 

Meeting length: Usually between 1-2 hours.

Meeting location: a combination of in-person and online meetings are arranged

After hours meetings: Sometimes, but will depend on the committee's requirements.

Do i have to work in an organisation to be on the committee?

No way! We love hearing directly from community about what they want, and what better way to get to know each other than working together to achieve our shared goals! No matter your age, work experience or whatever YOU ARE WELCOME!

Will i get paid to be on the committee?

Only if you count smiles as currency! The NAIDOC Committee is 100% volunteer work. It is a very rewarding cause and you will be paid in smiles and good times whilst having fun and getting to know a really good bunch of people, i pinky-swear!

Do i have to be Aboriginal to be on the committee?

The NAIDOC Committee are strong advocates for reconciliation. Non-Aboriginal people are more than welcome to be on the committee. We can all work together to create purposeful events for OUR community!
